Meet Parker!
He is the unofficial boss of Sunday Morning Counseling. He is in the last level of training to become a certified therapy dog. Parker is a brindle boxer. He is the baby of our fur children. Parker is named after my maternal grandparents who helped form me into who I am today. He weighs about 72 lbs already, and eats everything but onions. Parker was diagnosed with SRMA in February, and does not go around other dogs except his fur family. He LOVES people though, and is a big lap baby. His bestie is his sister, and his enemy is our cats. Fun fact about Parker…he looks tough but he is a huge scaredy cat. Will run from birds, squirrels, etc.
Animal-Assisted Therapy (AAT) is a therapeutic approach that incorporates the presence of animals, such as dogs or horses, to enhance emotional well-being and support the healing process. Through interactions with therapy animals, clients experience comfort, reduced stress, and increased engagement in therapy. This approach helps with a variety of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and social difficulties. Animal therapy fosters trust, improves mood, and encourages positive emotional connections, providing a unique and calming experience that complements traditional therapeutic methods.
