Where did the name of the practice come from?
Well I always say therapy should be easy like Sunday morning. Growing up my grandmother’s kitchen was where I went to vent about life. I grabbed a tea, a seat, and poured my struggles out. She listened with intent, and gave me wise guidance on how to manage my struggles. It was laid back, safe, warm, comfortable, and easy. This is the environment I try to create at my office. Come in..kick your shoes off if you like, grab a snack and a blanket, and sit a spell with me.
What is Animal-Assisted Therapy?
Animal-Assisted Therapy (AAT) is a therapeutic approach that incorporates the presence of animals, such as dogs or horses, to enhance emotional well-being and support the healing process. Through interactions with therapy animals, clients experience comfort, reduced stress, and increased engagement in therapy. This approach helps with a variety of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and social difficulties. Animal therapy fosters trust, improves mood, and encourages positive emotional connections, providing a unique and calming experience that complements traditional therapeutic methods.
